Aberdeen - Aberdeen Airport is one of Scotland's major air hubs and is also the world's largest commercial heliport, connecting the North Sea Oil Fields with the mainland. Birmingham - Serving the greater Midlands area, Birmingham International Airport is one of the largest in the UK, based in the Midlands handling 12 million passengers a year. There are two terminals.

Cardiff - Cardiff airport is only 12 miles from Cardiff City Centre (the Welsh Capital).

These are connected by a monorail which takes around two minutes to get from one terminal to the other. The airport is owned by BAA and assists over at 70 airlines flying to destinations all over the world. The railway station connects London to the airport it also has a coach station. the airport is located 25 miles south of London.

 

Glasgow - Glasgow airport offers a range of European and transatlantic destinations it support over 8 million passengers per year with 40 destinations and its Scotland's busiest airport. The airport is owned by BAA and it has 2 runways. The airport is located about 30 minutes from the centre of the City of Glasgow.

 

Heathrow - London Heathrow is one of the busiest airports in the world. it supports over 90 airlines and connects to 170 destinations worldwide, using four terminals carrying over 64 million passengers a year. The airport is owned by BAA.

 

Humberside - Humberside Airport is a rapidly growing UK airport based in the northeast area of England. It provides scheduled domestic and European flights.

Manchester - Manchester Airport handles over nineteen and a half million passengers each year to over 180 destinations and is located in the North of England, 10 miles southwest of downtown Manchester. Manchester airport is the 12th busiest UK airport with 3 terminals, 2 runways and a train station. It was voted European Airport of the Year in the 2001. The train station connects trains and buses to the terminal. Manchester airport is owned by the Manchester Airport Group. The airport was formerly known as Ringway and is a transatlantic hub for bmi and BA. The Airbus A340 and the Boeing 747 can use the runway due to its length.

It primarily supports to low costs carriers.   In 1942 the concrete runway built by the United States Army to use as a bomber base for WW2.
