Holiday Hotspots

Its no secret that us Brits like to get away on vacation as often as possible. The annual package holiday has been a must for many for over 30 years, ever since charter airlines started transporting us to the Spanish Costas on cheap holidays. But have things changed ?, bargain holidays are now becoming harder to locate and with the weakness of the pound against other major currencies many people are now considering  vacation ideas from  further a field.  Its seems people are considering  destinations away from our usually European haunts such as : Spain. France, Italy & Greece. So where are we thinking of going ? The following is our list of top holiday destinations away from the eurozone area.

  1. Egypt- The resort of Sharem El Sheikh provides an excellent destination with pretty much guaranteed sun, there is something for all tastes at this resort and it can cater for all ages. This vacation hot spot is simply littered with history so there is plenty to do if you get tired of the endless sea & sun. You will notice you get a good deal for you money in Egypt and this country is fast becoming a top vacation destination for Brits. Many people have invested in property in Egypt, some of the deals are simply unbelievable and there is plenty of holiday property to rent.

  2. Turkey- Who hasn't seen the wonderful turquoise blue pictures of this beautiful holiday vacation hotspot? Situated at the crossroads of Europe, the Middle East and Asia, Turkey shares its borders with eight countries and has 7200 km of coastline on  three different seas: the Black Sea, the Mediterranean Sea and the Aegean Sea. Turkey is becoming more popular each year with Brits and has equal measures of sun sea, fun culture & history. There is everything here from apartments to large luxury holiday villas. Its outside the Eurozone as well so you can expect your pound to go a lot farther.
  3. Tunisia- There's no sign of the Euro in this country so again, you can expect your hard earned vacation money to travel that little bit further. You can now reach this country from UK Airports in little over three hours, tourism is just starting to take off in this country, but most of it is of a fairly high standard. There's plenty of history to keep you occupied as well as endless sea &  sun. Truly a country where you can indulge all of  your senses.
  4. Bulgaria-  This country, believe it or not may turn out to be the most popular holiday destination this year.  Known as the "Jewel of the Balkans", it has plenty of sun sea and sand and snow as well. Until the fall of the Iron curtain, this gem of a holiday destination was a closely guarded secret for eastern Europeans, now however, credit crunch victims are flocking to a country renowned for its cheap prices . Cheap it may be, but don't underestimate the quality of what this country has to offer, if you can scrape yourself of one of the many blue flag beaches you will discover some breathtaking scenery and a broad diverse culture.
  5. Florida- A little bit further a field for this top holiday vacation hotspot, already over 4 million people a year visit the sunshine state. The pound has weakened against the dollar but it still offers great value for money. As well as the ever popular Disney attractions, there is plenty of good weather and fine beaches.
  6. Thailand- Another holiday vacation destination that is very popular with the Brits.   Its classed as" long haul" but if you are looking for a holiday idea for a  fourteen day break, this could be the destination for you. The scenery is unbelievable  and Thailand will be an experience you will never forget. Although recently  sterling has weakened against the  Baht, prices are so cheap, you will hardly notice the difference
  7. United Kingdom- Believe it or not, this is a top holiday destination for Brits that don't want to travel abroad and why not it has plenty to offer, some of the coastal beaches are beautiful ( although you may find the water a little cold) and there is  some beautiful scenery. Town and city breaks are very popular and  there are plenty of great deals on offer. The Scilly Isles , off the coast of Cornwall are considered by many to be a " must visit " destination.
  8. South Africa-  This has been quietly fashionable with Brits for a very long time.  A country of great diversity there is always plenty to see and do, wonderful scenery, great beaches and many different cultures  make this a top vacation destination.
  9. Canada- A bit cold for many peoples liking but Canada is a very popular destination with Brits who fancy something a little different. If any country truly symbolises the great out doors it 's Canada. There's is so much country  you will  defiantly need more than a couple of weeks to take it all in.
  10. Morocco- Again a county outside of the of the Eurozone, so your pounds will go much farther.  A short hop from Spain, Morocco is quickly beginning to appear on the " Holiday Vacation idea" radar.  Prepare to be amazed by the sheer diversity of its sights, wonderful cities , beautiful mountains and plenty of sea & sun.
